 Kamakura 仏典では光明は仏の発する光、 知恵や慈悲の象徴。 日常では希望を意味し 「光明を見出す」などと使うわけだが、 闇に射した光は確かに”よすが”となるが どんなに照らしたとしても その裏には影、陰、暗を作る。 春から夏への節気、 つかの間の気まぐれな日差しが 水を得て色を濃くしてきた若葉を投影し 生命のワヤンを上映するのだが 観る側の私にとっては その繁茂の展開に滅入るばかりである。 隆々とした幹から 注ぐ陽光を余すことなく受け取ろうと 葉枝を縦横に伸ばす傍ら、 その裏側では 湿った空気が錆びて軋む体の 隅々に入り込み、私の歩みを妨げる。 滑川にはホタルが揺れ飛び始めた。 護身とも繁栄とも言われるが 光明を機能として身に着けた存在。 この光は周囲を照らすほどではない、 むしろ暗幕の虫食い穴程度のものだが 自ら発光するその顕示は強い。 光明なき闇の中。 見えない敵からの護身が続く。 あとひと月、 雨雲とともに消え去ることを！ In the Buddhist scriptures, light is the light emitted by the Buddha.
